Setting up a game show with Slam-In takes almost no time at all. Simply plug a slammer system receiver into your computer's USB port. The red LED light on the face of the receiver tells you it's ready to go. The slammer batteries are included and pre-installed!
Slam-In works with a unique team buzzer or lockout concept called a slammer that tells you who's first to ring in. Each team shares a single slammer that's wireless. It communicates to your computer and our Slam-In software using radio frequency signals. Unlike a typical TV remote control, no one has to "aim" a slammer, and they work from up to 100 feet away!
Anyone who knows the answer can hit the slammer to ring in on behalf of their team and lock out everyone else. Slam-In tells you which team to recognize by highlighting that team's scorebox on-screen and by playing that team's unique ring-in sound. All the other teams are automatically locked out while you turn your attention to the ring-in winner.
If they answer correctly, you click the "Right" button, and that team wins points. If they answer incorrectly, you click the "Wrong" button, and the other teams now have a chance to ring-in. In addition, if you have set a Wrong Answer Penalty, those points are deducted automatically as well.
You only need 1 slammer per team to conduct a lively and engaging show. But if it's important to you to know which person on a team rang in first, then give every contestant a slammer. Slam-In lets you distribute up to 50 slammers and organize your contestants into as many as 10 teams.
