Slam-In has many options that you can set yourself to support whatever kind of competition environment you would like. However, if you open a pre-built file with all the options already set the way you want, all you have to do is enter team & player names and click "Play". We have created many of these ready-to-use files for you. We even have pre-recorded team and player announcements for you to use - free of charge!

The Kentucky Association for Academic Competition (KAAC) holds quick recall competitions at the elementary, middle, and high school levels throughout the state. KAAC matches feature 2 teams of 4 players in a single-point toss-up and bonus format. There are no extra points awarded for early correct answers nor any penalties assessed for incorrect answers given prior to the full reading of the question. However, missed bonuses do rebound or bounceback to the other team. In addition, all KAAC matches are timed.

KAAC matches at the various scholastic levels differ in terms of the lengths of their halves and the amount of time allowed for ring-in on toss-ups, so we have created 3 Slam-In properties files (pre-built settings files that are ready to go). Their underlying rules are identical in every other respect, and for that reason we have created just 1 Quick Start Guide for using Slam-In to support KAAC matches:

If you need to (re)install Slam-In onto a new computer or USB Flash drive, follow these steps:

1. Download the installer for Windows or Mac from our Help page, then run the installer.

2. Download and extract the contents of our KAAC Properties Files to your Slam-In Version 2/Formats/Official Competition Formats folder.

3. Launch and (re)register the Slam-In software.

When you launch Slam-In, select "Open An Official Competition Format" from the opening dialog box, then select the desired format. All you need to do is customize team & player names and click "Play".
